Anonymous said: Hey Reggie! I used to read Anydayhappyday when I was around 14, maybe 10 years ago. It spoke to me at the time and occasionally I look you up to see what's going on with you - once when I was 16 I started doodling a comic called "Whatever happened to Reggie Reno?". Things have changed a lot for me - I earned my masters, moved city twice and am now a girl rather than a boy. My life is a lot better than it was! How're things with you?
Well, recently, I’ve been responding to those types of questions with ‘better’, but this morning, I’m prepared to upgrade that to ‘awesome’. For the past nine years or so, I was in a really spectacularly dark place. Like the man says, I gazed into the motherfucking abyss and found that the abyss gazes also. But this year has been different, and amazing. A lot of it was finally realizing how much of a piece of shit I’d become, and how much I’d just destroyed my life. I’m not 100% back on track, but I’ve taken the first steps towards really getting my shit together for the first time in my life. For the first time in almost a decade, things are moving forward.
Things are awesome.
I would love to see anything that you did for ‘Whatever happened to Reggie Reno?”. I love seeing that kind of stuff, and of course it’s always awesome to hear from a fan, especially after all of these years. Super congrats on the masters, and the girldom. One love.
